Kit contents detail -
* 1 x full size recurve bow. What do we mean by full size? This means its dimensions are optimised for the height of the archer. This is a good quality bow that doesn't break the bank. It is often used by beginners in clubs throughout the county as the launch point for getting into the sport. Attractively laminated, robust and reliable.
* 6 x SF Axiom arrows. Just as important to the kit as the bow, though often overlooked. Not all arrows are the same. We have selected an arrow of notably higher quality than other archery sets found on the web. This is important because no matter how good the bow is, or how good you get, cheap arrows do not shoot the same every time! The 'Axiom' will give you confidence - and only yourself to blame!
* 1 x Dacron string. You won't get far without a string! Reinforced ends and centre serving for longer life.
* 2 x arrow rests. One of these is needed on a bow and is stuck just above the arrow shelf to support the arrow. We include an extra one free of charge because ... well, it might come in handy one day.
* 2 x brass nock sets. These are crimped on to the bow string to mark the nocking point of the arrow.
* 1 x Basic bracer. Fits around your forearm, just in case the string should catch on loose.
* 1 x Leather glove. Fits on your drawing hand to stop you getting sore fingers.
* 1 x Bow Stringer. Needed to safely string and de-string your bow.
* 1 x 'An Introduction to Archery' DVD. Archery kits are renowned for having poor instructions. So we decided to do something about it. We have produced a 35 minute instructional DVD guiding you through the assembly and shooting of your bow. This is an ideal companion to this bow kit and we hope will further your enjoyment of this set.
* 1 x Target Sight. There are two holes on the side of the bow used for the mounting of a sight. This sight is fitted there, and can be adjusted vertically and horizontally to improve accuracy.
* 1 x Target Quiver. Used in conjunction with any belt, this quiver hangs at the waist to hold your arrows. Tough, cordura type material, storage compartments and 4 plastic arrow tubes. (Colour may vary from that shown)
* 1 x Case. When the bow is de-strung it fits nicely into this padded case. (Colour may vary from that shown)

an all around good piece of kit, the bow itself is really good, but the string could be improved as it made a rather unpleasant noise when it struck the top limb, the glove and arrows are great, and that arrow rest's never gonna break! however the bracer isnt too clever having non stretching velcro straps, and continually slides down my arm

I was skeptical about buying this kit, although it looked great the idea of not being able to input your exact specifications troubled me. But when it arrived it was the perfect poundage and height. The arrows are of good quality, lightweight, thin and very accurate. The bow, a Samick Polaris is strong and easy to assemble. The leather arm guard and glove were not great, the glove was too thin and started to hurt my fingers and the guard ripped after Getting caught on the string a few times. That aside would recommend this kit to any beginner that wanted the full kit from the start.

I am extremely happy with every aspect of shopping with merlin archery centre. All the products I purchased are excellent quality, the service was also brilliant; I ordered on Monday and received an email confirming my order. Tuesday I received a text saying my package was being shipped. this morning (Wednesday) I received a text saying it would arrive between 10:04- 11:04 and it arrived at 10:05.

This is a good starters kit and the service from Merlin was very good. The Bow & Arrows are of Good quality and the rest is suitable for most situations when learning archery. You can upgrade as and when you need to but all the basic kit is there.

really pleased with this bow. the quality is great, accessories are great. the bow is lightweight but sturdy. shoots the arrows smoothly and quietly. i only wish i had taken up archery when i was younger. (i'm in my 70's now) i bought the big shot target after buying this kit as i though i would make my own target out of cardboard. my target didn't stop the arrows and i stripped off a couple off some fletchings going clean through. save on postage and get a good target.

I was bought this kit as an early Christmas pressie. After completeing a beginners course over a year ago I was unable to draw a bow due to a shoulder injury. All I can say is the kit is excellent. It includes most of what I need (I will be ordering some extra items very soon). The services from Merlin Archery was excellent also as I had a few questions I needed answered prior to buying from them. Friendly and experts in their field. My wife bought me one of these for my birthday after watching the new Robin Hood film. Built it up one sunday and promptly lost an arrow on my first shot! After she stopped laughing i had a great time but those arrows are very very hard to find.

You can't tell from the picture just how good this bow is. I was very impressed with the quality of the bow and the overall package exceeded my expectations. I recommend getting a good target. Tried using carboard but the arrows fly straight through it! Typical newbie not knowing better. Thanks to Merlin for their help on the phone. Almost bought a plastic bow before this but they explained the differences to me and I'm glad I went with their advice. Looking for a good club now. London 2012 here I come!
